Aromatherapy with Helen

I’m a Clinical Aromatherapist, Aromatherapy Author, Writer and Educator.

“Essential oils exist to protect and maintain the survival of plants, but maybe spiritually they have that role for us too?”

“As summer pulled out and autumn drew in, Star anise kept drifting into my consciousness. At first, I might accidentally pick up the bottle, remembering for a moment that it had its place alongside the few oils I don’t like. Yet, as the autumn mists increased and the damp started to pervade, it kept calling, whispering my name.”

Quotes from my latest book ‘now available’ at Singing Dragon and Amazon/KDP for digital download.

This book explores the benefits of using unusual essential oils in aromatherapy, and demonstrates why we should go beyond the 60-70 we traditionally learn about.

It is packed with examples of use in an aromatherapy practice, case studies and nearly 60 recipes.

There are 18 essential oils profiles that discuss the background to the essential oil, its personality, safety and cautions, sustainability and its physical, emotional and spiritual uses.

This book is aimed at qualified aromatherapists, student aromatherapists and essential oils hobbyists, who are already familiar with aromatherapy texts and essential oil safety.

This important resource takes a trauma-informed and scientific approach to aromatherapy as a healing modality, educating professionals on how to engage with traumatised clients, and how to look after themselves in the process.

It includes detailed case studies from established aromatherapists around the globe which explore the various contexts in which aromatherapy can be used to promote healing, including end of life care, addiction, abuse, and traumatic events such as the Grenfell fire.

Supplemented with essential oil profiles, including comprehensive safety precautions and dilution rates, this book provides an invaluable blend of scientific insight and practical wisdom for professionals looking to engage in aroma as a healing modality.

Testimonial

“Helen was very thorough in taking a medical history and notes about my conditions, of which I had a number, and made sure nothing would interfere with any medications I was taking.  The cream she made up smelt fab, massages in well and works really well.  It allows me to sleep at night. Whenever anything aches now, I massage some in and it sorts it out straight away.  Just ordered my second pot.  Well worth the investment.  Thank you Helen"
